it's probably been a month since my last post. probably because everything is great and i don't have much to bitch about.

i'm flying to baltimore on friday to play 3 shows with my luck. this should be the most exciting thing in the world for me but i'm not really that excited. i guess when i get there i will be but right now it's not really on my mind.

last week i had a very changing day. i started the day and erased my ipod and replaced it with the genre rap only. this is becuase i watched atl and get rich or die trying the day before. after work i went to fulton thrift to check out the bball jerseys but instead i found a perfect pair of cowboy boots. they are really nice, soft brown color with pointy toes. they were 9 bucks so i also bought a christian dior belt to meet the 10 dollar debt card minimum.

it seems like since those boots everything fell into place. i've only worn them once but they are like a magic charm. i went to a really awesome party on saturday. a lesbian baby shower which sounds really awkward but it was perfect and the food was delicious. potatos with corn and spices, asparagus with tzahiki (try it!), a sweet cheese tray. BROWNIES! so i had a blast at that party which was cool becuase the day before i went to a pretty lame grown up party at a fancy restaurant with lots of ritas and fake people.

Last night I went to the rockets game with my friends from work. we sat courtside and there was an open bar. amazing seats! it was so much fucking fun. we sat next to andre johnson from the texans and bob lanier.

it was crazy how close we were to the players, they definatley heard everything we said. towards the 3rd quarter when the rockets where up by 40 we started talking alot of shit. the 76ers have this guy called korver who looks like ashton kutcher and we got on his case all night. "hay ashton you got punk'd!" "that 76ers show!!! sux!" i kept screaming draftpick at them.

the rockets where stoked because we were going nuts. especially when dekembe mutumbo got a block and did the finger wag.

the power dancers were cracking up we kept yelling out how much we loved them, and making the cell phone symbol.

I'm all moved in at my new place, and it is really great. When I was moving I kept trying to find the one thing I have moved the most times. I'm actually kind of sad because the oldest thing I have is a masterlock computer lock that I bought in 1999 before I moved to denton. I feel like I'm really bad about holding on to things. Everytime I move I get rid of alot of things. I'm wondering what I left this time that I'm going to miss.

I know last time i moved I threw out my birth certificate and social security card. I threw out these sweet cowboy boots at the peden house. I have lost or thrown out every cd I ever bought along the way too.

what is the oldest thing you still have?

so i'm moving. not so much because I want to move again but because I have to. our landlord is very sketchy. it's so weird for me becuase i'm used to being the sketchy tenant and I feel like I'm the one who should be fucking up.

but yea we found a new place. it's really nice in that it's a house with a fenced in yard which i'm sure the dogs will like. it has a dishwasher which i have been praying for the past 3 years. it has a rope swing in the yard so thats pretty cool, maybe people can come over and rope swing.

i'm not excited about signing a year lease, but i don't know why i try to kid my self i'm going to do something else or move somewhere else. I've been at the same job for 5 years now, and I guess i've been in houston for as long.

also my grandma finally got back into her apartment today (it got flooded on christmas eve). her stuff is EVERYWHERE. and they replaced the floors so i guess they had to move everything around 4-5 times, it was very confusing. plus you know she's an old grandma so her she keeps weird things... like when i opened the dryer and she has been saving all her plastic grocery bags from the past 4 years. she also has been saving the cardboard from her tv dinners. ???? i filled up my truck with trash and junk from her apartment. She wouldn't let me throw stuff away so i kept asking her if i could have stuff like her old mildewed curtains or 40 year old pillows and stuff.

i'm so sick and tired of david beckham talk. it's kind of funny because when i'm at work or just in general i don't have anybody to talk about football with. basically just me and my dad. and i'm always wishing i could talk about football with people, and the one day i go to work and EVERYBODY is talking about beckham cause they know i'm crazy about football and mls and it kinda drove me sick.

i'm also pretty mad at the ridiculous contract they gave him he's going to be making almost $1 million a week, and you have to realize the rest of the teams are on a 2 million dollar cap. alot of the players are making 20k a year, some of the good/average players are making 30-50k a year. i think they could have spent the money on several more better players just to step up the quality in the league, or at least spend that money to help keep the good american players here. clint dempsey just left for england and he's one of the best young players, he's from nachidoches, and he's gone for 2.9 million. they could have bought a bunch of good players for the money they spent on beckham. oh well. i mean i know beckham is going to basically pay for himself as far as advertising and stuff goes i just don't see the impact on the field. I doubt he's going to come over here and score lots of goals. I think there is going to be alot of hype in his first tour around the states but it won't sustain over a couple of years unless the galaxy starts winning alot of games.

it's my birthday today, i'm 26.
i had a flat tire so i didn't leave the house today. the past week i have been consumed by winning eleven 9. it's konamis soccer game which rules so much more than fifa. and the best/worst thing is that they don't have official licensces for players/jerseys/stadiums/leagues, etc. so all the teams names are wrong (manchester united = man red) all the players names are wrong (david beckhan) etc. and all the logos are off. but you can edit EVERYTHING it's so crazy in depth. so i've been re-drawing the real logos in pixel editors and renaming everything. it's ridiculous i barely even play the game i mostly just edit the game.

yesterday was an awesome day, I went over to my parents house and helped my dad out cause he got shoulder and hand surgery last week. we went to the bar to watch the celtic game bobby lennox was there.

bobby lennox played left wing on the team that beat intermilan for the european championship.

I sat up at the front table with my dad, bobby, his wife, and dominic kinnear the coach of the houston dynamo. It was awesome.
After the game we went back to my parents house and i took a nap, then we ate pizza.
i came home and made bobby lennox in winning eleven 9

oh yeah and my parents got me a nakamura jersey for birthday.

ok yeah so i'm going to be playing at sxsw this year with my half roomate yppah at the ninjatunes showcase.
you can hear some of the tracks here: http://www.myspace.com/yppah
not the lady sov remix, but the other three songs we will probably be doing live.

also there is another track i did drums on with yppah, stenographer, and eban doss.
http://www.myspace.com/thelowestfidelity the song is called weaklings, it should be the 4th song.

be warned this isn't hardcore at all. it's jazzy ambient stuff.
you can buy the yppah album on itunes for 9.99 or where ever else you get cds.

i went to the rockets game with joey last night. it was pretty bleh. I don't like going to the toyota center. i mean it's a really nice place, but it's just so forced. there is way too many distractions it makes it hard to get into the game. plus the way the rockets play it's pretty boring. the highlight of the night was the rockets power dancers slam dunk competition. and the 2nd best thing was nachos. at least the rockets won but if they would have lost i don't think i would have cared... it's not like anybody was really hustling. maybe it's cause t-mac got kicked in the ribs in the 1st quarter?

last night i stayed up so late that i got delirious it was pretty cool. it was the same thing as when you stay up really late on christmas eve. but then i had to wake up at 7 to go to the parade with my mom. it was sweet the dynamo were there and i got to see the mls cup and stuart holden saw my shirt and threw me a mini soccer ball.

i ate soo much tofurky. it was really good this year too like the best ever. the past 3 thanksgivings at my sisters we've always had trouble with the tofurky. 3 years ago we used sunny d mixed with canola oil for a baste and it was kinda gross and covered with tang like substance. last year it was just really dry.. but this year we got all the ingredients and did it right. mmmmmmm foood coma.

the whole rest of the day has been dedicated to call of duty 3

I got back from frisco texas late last night from the mls cup. this is the first time i've ever been to a championship game, so it was interesting. Pizza hut park is really nice. they are sponsored by pizza and dr pepper so combined with nachos they had the best concession stands ever. the park was really cool too it looks kind of small from the outside but once you get in you see that the stadium is dug down into the ground. it seats 22,000 people and the highest seats are at ground level and are only 33 rows from the field. they have seats on 3 sides of the field and and 1 side has 2 giant video screens and a stage for concerts. It was actually pretty cool they had the polyphonic spree playing before the game and under the influence of giants at half time. The atmosphere was kind of lame though, even though there was alot of houston fans there was probably more people there wanting to be entertained. basically just there cause it was kind of a big deal. In the 2nd half when it was still scoreless the life got kind of sucked out of the stadium.

The game was still scoreless going into double overtime, the dynamo had made 3 subs moreno (the most fouled player in the league) for dalglish, stuart holden (houston's own from awty) in for serioux, and kelly gray for ryan cochrane. but anyways the twellman scored for the revolution and I pretty much thought we were done. There was only a few more minutes left and we hadn't had any real great shots yet. The revolution players went on celebrating for way to long and like paraded around the stadium it was very annoying. all the dynamo players were just standing ready to kick off. they kicked off maybe 2 people touched the ball and then brian mullan flicked it right to brian chings head and he buried the ball into the net. Holy shit! fucking demoralizing. a scoreless game gets two goals in maybe 60 seconds apart.

but we were coming up to a shoot out and I wasn't excited about that. New englands goalie reis is one of the best in the league and he is really athletic. I saw him block two and score a goal in their penalty shoot out with new york. Anyways kelly grey put one past him, next stuart holden did the same, then new england missed one over the bar and we were up 2-1, but then brad davis had a shot blocked and it was tied again. then to finish it off de rosario sneaked one under the goalie, and ching stutter step and hit an off timed goal. Then new englands whole season came down to defender jay heaps, I don't know why steve nicol made that decision, he could have went with clint dempsey but I guess new england obviously has problems with penalty takers when there 3rd best is the goalie. anyways jay heaps hit the weakest shot towards the left post and even old pat onstad the dynamos silverbacked goalie pounced on it and we won. I couldn't believe it. I didn't know why they were celebrating on the field and then it sunk in and I went nuts. The p.a. totally blew it and started playing the gap band. how lame. they should have cut the speakers and just let the fans take over with CHAMPIONES CHAMPIONES OLE OLE.

It's been a fairy tale season. I remember the first day we announced the team looking at all the faces and names on the website and not knowing who anybody was. Then ching scored 4 goals in the first game and I learned a name. Serioux threw the ball in 50 yards and I learned another. Over the course of the season I grew to know everybody on the team. I remember some great goals, de rosario's 1 touch volley and a goal against chelsea, and his 60 yard bomb in chicago. I remember stuart holdens first game coming on as a sub and scoring a goal in the 1st drive. I remember paul dalglishes first game. I remember chings bicycle kick against DC. More than anything I'll remember houston raising the cup in frisco texas after over two hours of football.

i saw american hardcore, i loved it. i have a love hate relationship with the book because it's got alot of great first hand stories combined with steven blushes editorial opinion. the movie while based on the book doesn't have a narattor so it's better. they dragged a ton of people out for interviews, i was most stoked about the mugger interviews and nig-heist footage.... the nig heist album is so bad i had to sell it cause i couldn't stand to own it. of course there is alot of TYPICAL over coverage of minor threat/blackflag/bad brains, and alot of bands got glossed over like 7seconds and negative approach. but there was amazing stories from the boston scene, al barlie, springa, dave smalley, etc. alot of funny lines and footage too. i was cracking up at the last ssd show footage.

of course just like the book the last part of the movie is everybody telling you that hardcore died in 86. that was the worst part of the book. the people really make a good case for it in the movie. but really.. ian became a hippie, blackflag degenerated into bullshit, ssd and gang green became power metal bands, etc. but at the same time cro-mags was just getting started, sheer terror & sod coming out of new york. slapshot out of boston. and then lets not forget the youth crew bands coming out after that like youth of today, gorilla biscuits, warzone, side by side, bold, and on and on and on. but after seeing that movie it's kind of clear that yeah... hardcore has lived on, but it's not the same... it can't be the time and place are so much different now.
